“I found out that I needed an operation for a back problem which was causing severe pain to my left leg from the sciatic nerve. After speaking to my GP and realizing I was getting nowhere I decided to take the matter into my own hands as I could hardly walk. After speaking to private consultants and realizing that without private medical insurance I was not going to be seen to in this country without shelling out around £20,000 I decided to look elsewhere. I decided to look into having the operation privately in India and was fortunate to come across Mediescapes India. From my initial enquiry when I e-mailed my MRI results to Mediescapes India I was amazed ..more.”

Consultation:

The consultation and LASIK work up will be performed by Dr Anand Shroff, our LASIK surgeon at Shroff Eye Hospital, Mumbai, India. He has large experience with LASIK and even trains doctors worldwide on wavefront [Custom LASIK] measurements.

A complete eye assessment is required to check a patient's suitability for LASIK.

Tests include refraction, contrast sensitivity, pupil size, pupil reaction, slit lamp examination, retinal examination, tonometry, pachymetry, aberrometry, topolyzer measurements, topography and tests for dry eye amongst others. These tests would take about 60-90 minutes as it includes pupillary dilation.

For your own safety we request you to not self-drive home after the tests as the vision may be slightly blurry for a couple of hours.

A customized treatment plan is developed and pre-procedure instructions are handed over

Our Lasers:

The WaveLight 400 Hz Allegretto Wave Eye-Q is a laser that provides the doctor and the patient the highest level of safety, accuracy and reliability in LASIK, allowing the doctor to truly customize and offer a treatment that is ideally adjusted to the individual needs of the patient.

The WaveLight 400 Hz Allegretto Wave Eye-Q saves upto 40% of valuable corneal tissue for every dioptre of treatment when compared with other lasers. This results in the doctor being able to treat a higher power range keeping in mind long-term safety as well as treating lower powers with unmatched stability
